Add to that the Lake Mohegan waterfront and you and your family can find plenty of opportunities to cool off in the summer, or take a quiet walk in the cooler months. Now get out there enjoy!  But first... make sure you have your beach sticker! Good to know: Life guards, weekends only, May 23rd - June 21st Full time season is June 22nd through Aug 16th. Stickers/Mohegan Passes needed Memorial Day(Saturday) to Labor Day. Beaches: Jennings: located at 880 South Benson Rd You're sure to run into someone you know at the ever-popular Jennings Beach. There is a large parking area, life guards on duty as noted above, restrooms, and food concession, or if you'd rather bring your own, there are public grills and picnic tables available. On the back side of the parking lot is Sandcastle Playground. Penfield: located at 323 Fairfield Beach Rd Penfield is a lively beach with a large parking lot, food concession, and restrooms/changing rooms available, as well as public grills , a picnic area and playground. South Pine Creek: located at 1424 S Pine Creek Rd A smaller more intimate beach, small parking area with additional parking in front of the Scandinavian Club where marked. Restrooms, lifeguard on duty as noted above. No food amenities, so pack a picnic! Southport: located at 1505 Pequot Ave A beautiful stretch of sand in historic Southport. Parking spaces are available along Pequot Ave., life guard on duty as noted above. Sasco: located at 1401 Sasco Hill Dr A small, intimate beach. Sasco's small parking area keeps this beach relatively uncrowded and quiet. A nice retreat, but get there early to snag a parking space! Lifeguard on duty as noted above. Lake Mohegan: located at 960 Morehouse Hwy Lake Mohegan is a scenic woodland lake in Fairfield's Lake Hills area. You will love the peaceful setting and the kids will love playing in the water, on the beach, in the spray park and on the playground. There is ample parking in the parking lot, and restrooms and changing rooms are available. Pack your cooler and take advantage of the public grills and picnic area. Also, don't miss the Cascade walking trails and waterfall. Please note that you need a separate Lake Mohegan Pass which can be renewed online or purchased by mail. (download the form online) |
